Perhaps my favorite time of day is the 15 to 20 minutes immediately following the girls' dinner. David isn't home so we are on our own. They generally don't eat much dinner, and I am left at the table to think, blog, or check my facebook.

Meanwhile, the kids play nicely. And they poop. I am grateful for the predictability of their bowels, so this is a nice time of night for me.

Last night was even more pleasant, due to a conversation with Ada. Here's how it went:

ADA (flouncing into room): Mommy, I pooped.

LINDSAY: Okay, did you wipe (I always do a wipe-check, but she likes to do it herself, too).

ADA: Yes.... I'm sorry, Mom. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. You can do it next time, Mom.

this is the real honor of my life. getting to be loved like this.

Dear Ada,
I love that you were so sorry to deprive me of what you clearly perceive as an honor: to wipe your hiney. Trust me, dear, we'll have more chances to share such a special time. I love you, darling child.
Mommy
