Red Hot & Handmade

I think Valentine's are so much more special when they are from the heart. And what says "From the Heart" more than something that is handmade? And if not handmade by your own sweet self, why not buy handmade? Here are some things on Etsy that I'm loving for Valentine's (which, you may note, is now under two weeks away. You'd best get your order on now).

Tina's heart scarf.

I love this little red bird. So sassy, for something stuffed.

Sweets for the sweet.

For someone's very new Valentine.

Rex, I really want this one.

Sometimes, it's not so bad to be a redneck.

Please don't buy this one, as I might need it myself.

For the man that gets your heart all twitter-pated.

Another one for the red-hot fella in your life.

Go on now! Get shopping!

This Weekend's Treasures

When I was pregnant with Ada and still working at my TV job, a consignment store opened nearby and I spent many a lunch hour there. Three-plus years on, it was a treat to be in the neighborhood this weekend, so I swung by to search for treasures. And treasures I found!

I needed chairs for the playroom. These can double as outside chairs one day. I may paint the white one, but I do love that bright orange.

And, the piece de resistance… the Wonder Horse. Vintage, but I’m not sure from when. I’m sure it’s probably crazy dangerous by today’s standards, but it’s cute and fun. I want to paint his eyeball in. And I may put some red paint on the wooden handles.

Lovelies

I just couldn’t let another minute go by without sharing these pictures I got today.  I actually saw them several weeks ago at a consignment store I love but since they discount stuff the longer you wait, I patiently, patiently waited.  Of course when I went back today they were not with the other pictures.  Tragedy! Luckily, despite a major time restraint (sleepy babes in the car with Daddy), I ventured into the back room, and lo and behold what did I find but my beauties—and for 1/2 off at that. My favorite is the two mommies having tea while the baby bangs the spoons on the floor and the little boy waits to be released from the pain of the ladies’ luncheon. Feast your eyes…I do believe they are playroom-bound.
