South of the Border

On Tuesday we went to South of the Border. It's an extraordinarily kitschy tourist attraction off I-95 right on the North Carolina/South Carolina border. The article was probably published in '91, and I think things were significantly more hopping then than they are now. Plus, I think things might pick up more in the summer. Or perhaps would-be visitors are turned off by the vague xenophobia vibes I seem to be picking up on.
