Reunion-ing

I visited Chicago recently, to see my parents. My dad has started preaching at a congregation in a suburb there and I wanted to go see the fun there is to be had. So the girls and I boarded a plane one Wednesday and set off to the midwest. I love how walkable the area is, with a park on every corner, it seems.

I also love how many old (and new) friends I have in the area. I got to visit with the parents of one dear friend who I never get to see (I'm lookin' at you, Moki.) I got to meet my new FB friend Lauren, who made me a gorgeous necklace based on the verse in Matthew about "Many Sparrows." I even got a spare for a friend who's husband just lost his job.

I also got to hang with my friends Drew and Chris, both of whom I had not seen in over a decade. Awesome! Drew is a camera-phobe, so no pics of that escapade (it involved a close encounter with the state of Wisconsin, me almost falling flat on my face on Ontario Street, and a homeless man telling us to get the heck away from Whacker Drive--major Adventures in Babysitting flashbacks). BUT I was excited to take pictures of Chris' little girl Sophia. So of course the sweetness came down sick and wasn't able to join the fun. So you'll have to settle for pictures of me and Chris being dorks--just like old times.
Dorky. And proud of it.Less dorky. And proud of that, too.

I have plans to go back. Soon. I'll take more pictures next time, I promise.
