Mother's Day

Such a GOOD Mother's Day. My children painted for me, and their sweet artwork now hangs in their playroom. I was touched that my husband suggested it for them, and at how proud they both were to bring me their gifts. Sunday afternoon I told David that I would much rather cook, so long as I could do it in peace. So he entertained Ada and Roxy and I made bouchons au thon (from Molly Wizenberg's "A Homemade Life"), a green salad with homemade vinaigrette, and roasted rosemary potatoes. For dessert we had banana bread with dark chocolate chips and crystallized ginger (again from the book) and homemade whipped cream. It was perfect. After the kids were napping I went to the bookstore and browsed, wrote, and drank coffee. Perfect, perfect, perfect. Here a few scenes from my wonderful day.
