Hot Date on Ice
David and I got to go on a real, live DATE. My sweet mother-in-law came all the way from Nashville specifically to send us out on a date. Isn't that the best, nicest thing, ever? Here's how it went:
This is me and Dave at the Thrashers game. You might be surprised to know I LOVE hockey. I grew up in Kentucky where we only have the Wildcats to root for, no big sports. We have to borrow the Reds to be able to go see something big-time. So of course hockey was not even a blip on my radar till I moved to Atlanta. But I went to one game early on and I loved it! They play the best music of any sport in the city, they have those flaming thrasher heads, and, here's a secret: I love the fights. Really. Love 'em. Anyway, Dave scored us really great seats about 10 rows back from the ice on the club level. That's where they have the Buckhead Life Group restaurant outposts. I love it when we get seats here. Makes me HAPPY.
This baby was notable for two reasons. 1) He never made a peep during the whole game. David and I cracked up because our little whirling dervishes would not have been nearly so docile. And 2) His dad was trying to get the little Ice Hoochies to throw him a t-shirt by yelling "I have a BABY! I have a BABY."
David and I have been to a good deal of those 17 sold out Widespread Panic shows. Dirty hippies.
Thrash and his very loud drum.
It was a romantic date, see? I got kisses. Thank you to Sue for the babysitting and to David for picking an awesome place to go. The love is still there, folks!

Dates? What are those?
We have 4 box seat Thrasher tickets for sale at our auction. Just sayin'.
Looks like fun! We love hockey, too...both of my little boys play and my husband played through college. Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
Hey...you should see them Chicago Black Hawks play that hockey...
