Our time in Kentucky was a lot of fun... my sister had delicious soup made for us when we arrived, my cousins came up for Mom's birthday and thrifted with us (cowgirl dress up outfit, anyone?), and my girls got to see snow for the first time. We were also able to go to storytime at my hometown library. Things have changed a little there since I was a kid... gone is the mean kid's librarian who berated my 5 year old self for overdue books...out with her, in with Miss Libby. She is seriously great, and leads the kids in rousing renditions of "Five Little Monkeys" and Old MacDonald, complete with finger puppets.
Steve Wolfgang (AKA Lindsay's Dad) came. He never can resist the opportunity to commune with books. If grandchildren are involved, triple bonus for him.
My friend Sara, who I've known since elementary school, brought her little girl Julia. She and Roxy entertained each other by pulling magazines off the shelves. Yay! Destruction!
We got to do a craft--makin' penguins, quite appropriate for the pending cold front coming through...
Roxy was way more interested in eating the glue stick.
Books! Crafts! Miss Libby! Hurrah!
