Happy Birthday to my Mother

This is my mother. Isn't she gorgeous? When I was in elementary school, I remember sitting at the lunch table, feeling so proud as all my girlfriends talked about how pretty my mom was, and how young she looked. Now, a couple of decades later, I feel the same way, only now I am proud of her for so many more reasons. She is a loving wife, a talented counselor, a smitten grandmother, a loyal friend, and a loyal follower of the Lord. She is witty and cute and charming. She is a great Nana to my children, always observing them and really relishing their little personalities.

Today is her birthday (I won't tell you how old she is. She's a lady, so don't ask, either). Here she is sharing HER birthday cake with Ada. I love how caring she is, even when she's just feeding her dessert.

Happy birthday Mom. I am so glad that God blessed the world with your birth.

Yes, Lindsay is right on all counts -- Mom is cute, loyal, smart, gorgeous, spiritual, lovely, insightful, beautiful, funny, caring -- and still young at age..... (ummm, check Monday's blog for details).

And her daughters are ditto.

THANKS for bringing the babies and organizing a great party. It was great. And thanks to Lesley for cookin' supper Monday.

Ooops. Went back and changed post so as not to reveal any details about the lady's age...
