Old Friends

Old friends are great.  You don’t have to say anything to catch up, just jump right in and run with a great conversation.  I only see my good friend Amy about once a year.  This year, we met for lunch and then did some post-Christmas shopping at Target (let’s just say, next year’s tree is going to be beautiful… but that’s another post, for another time).

Amy and I met at Berry College.  We were on the forensics team together.  She had striped socks with slots for each toe.  She did not like my roommate.  I thought she was awesome.  We were debate partners in class, confidantes when our boyfriends turned out to be cads, and became friends on the late night van trips to speech competitions.

Here is my favorite picture from our visit… Roxy and Amy share beverages, and smiles.

Thanks! It's funny how much more you love the people who love your kids, isn't it?
